Technical ice ax with good performance for classic mountaineering
The SUMMIT EVO classic mountaineering ice ax is an essential tool for all types of alpine ascents. Lightweight, its hydroformed tube offers a very high comfort of holding with the hand under the head of the ice axe. The technical design of the curvature of the handle provides the necessary separation distance for use on vertical and icy terrain. The forged and well-balanced head provides very high anchoring qualities. The handle grip makes it a precise and effective ice axe.
Description
- Lightness: light ice ax, but which retains weight on the head for good anchoring power.
- Hydroformed handle for good grip with your hand on the handle and a technical design:
- The handle is curved at the top, offering good clearance distance when climbing.
- The lower part is straighter and guarantees effective penetration into the snow.
- Hot forged steel head and blade, ensuring solid anchors:
- Thin blade (3 mm), robust and serrated at the end, which ensures good anchoring quality on hard snow and ice.
- Thicker blade in the center to improve grip on soft snow.
- Teeth on the upper part of the blade to reinforce the grip of the ice ax as an ice ax-ramp.
- Robust stainless steel handle for very good penetration in hard snow and as an ice axe-cane.
- High resistance and practical aspects:
- Very resistant steel shovel with a comfortable support surface and a design of the edges that allows you to carve steps effectively.
- Inclined blade to correctly guide the ice ax in the snow (use as an ice ax-cane).
- Head and tail equipped with holes to pass a carabiner or a strap.
- High quality aluminum handle (7075 aluminum used in aeronautics), with anodized finish for excellent protection.
