Classic mountaineering ice ax

The SUMMIT ice ax, intended for classic mountaineering, offers an excellent price/performance ratio. Lightweight, with good anchoring features both on the head and on the handle, curved to offer the necessary separation when used on vertical and icy terrain, it can be used as an ice axe-cane or ice axe-ramp, or as an ice axe-traction in steps short verticals.

Description

  • Lightness: light ice ax, but which retains weight on the head for good anchoring power.
  • Handle ergonomics:
    - The handle is curved at the top, offering good clearance distance when climbing.
    - The lower part is straighter and guarantees effective penetration into the snow.
  • Hot forged steel blade and blade, which ensures solid anchors:
    - Thin blade (3 mm) and serrated at the tip, which ensures good anchoring quality on hard snow and ice.
    - Thicker blade in the center to improve grip on soft snow.
    - Teeth on the upper part of the blade to reinforce the grip of the ice ax as an ice ax-ramp.
    - Robust stainless steel handle for very good penetration in hard snow and as an ice axe-cane.
  • High resistance and practical aspects:
    - Very resistant steel shovel with a comfortable support surface and a design of the edges that allows you to carve steps effectively.

    - Head and tail equipped with holes to pass a carabiner or a strap.
    - High quality aluminum handle (7075 aluminum used in aeronautics), with anodized finish for excellent protection.
