Our modern take on Chouinard’s original curved-bill mountaineering ice axe, the Black Diamond Raven Ice Axe is a classic ice axe used by mountaineers on classic climbs around the world for decades. Now redesigned, the Raven is lighter and features a one-piece, investment-molded, ergonomically improved stainless steel head for increased comfort while walking. Updated pick and hoe geometry allows for more secure placements and more efficient cutting, and the revamped tip provides a better bite on those icy placements with improved digging ability. The durable aircraft-grade aluminum shaft has also been improved with a trapezoidal cross-section for a more comfortable and better grip.
