A more compact and lighter version of the versatile ATC-Guide, the ATC-Alpine Guide is designed for mountain climbs. Weighing only 73 grams, this belay and rappelling device is optimized for ropes between 8.1 and 8.5 millimeters in diameter, although it works with ropes between 6.9 and 9 mm. The oval anchor hole allows for easy rope insertion and pulling, and the device's guide mode allows one or two climbers to be secured to an anchor. Multiple friction modes provide the optimal amount of braking power when descending or rappelling.
