KNOW HOW TO CHOOSE THE AXES AND CRAMPONS WELL
Providing the most suitable equipment for different activities in the mountains is what motivates us every day at Petzl! For this reason, the ice axes and crampons that we develop and market in our ranges are designed to allow you to progress on different terrains, from hiking on glacial terrain to dry tooling, including more or less technical mountaineering. Each product obviously has its favorite field, but its versatility also allows it to be used in complementary uses, which we will surely find on our outings to the mountains.
MOUNTAINEERING
Matthias Scherer prepares his equipment at the foot of the Flågbekken icefall in Troms (Norway).
If Petzl offers no less than ten models of ice axes and nine models of crampons in its ranges, it is for a reason. Using the appropriate technical material for each terrain also means evolving more safely. But making the right choice is not always obvious, so here are some guidelines to logically combine Petzl ice axes and crampons, as packs depending on the type of activity.
